Investor publishes 2022 Annual Report
Today Investor AB publishes the Annual Report 2022 including the Sustainability Report, on www.investorab.com.
While 2022 was challenging for the global economy, Investor and our portfolio showed strong resilience, with adjusted net asset value outperforming the Swedish stock market. Adjusted net asset value growth and total shareholder return amounted to -10 percent and -15 percent respectively, compared to -23 percent for the SIXRX return index.
In the Annual Report, Jacob Wallenberg, Chair of the Board, and Johan Forssell, CEO, comment on the challenging year, Investor’s performance and how to capture opportunities ahead.
“It is clear that business must learn to navigate in a much more fragmented world. marked by war, increased protectionism, the rapid technological shift and climate change. Despite all uncertainties I am satisfied that Investor and our portfolio companies have continued to show resilience. This is the result of relentless focus on operations and people, on costs and efficiency, on investments in R&D and innovation”, writes Jacob Wallenberg.
When it comes to sustainability, the aim is to ensure that our companies stay at the forefront of their industries. In 2022, CO2e emissions from our companies decreased with 57 percent compared to 2016.
“Capturing the opportunities that sustainability offers continues to be highly prioritized for our companies. Bringing forward innovative and energy efficient products is of course essential to support customers and grow market share, but also to combat climate change and contribute to society as a whole”, writes Johan Forssell.
