InvitationConsultants.com Sponsors Bloggers to Attend BlogHer '11
Six bloggers attended the national conference with help from the company
Tampa, FL, August 8, 2011 – Over the course of four weeks, InvitationConsultants.com received more than 200 entries to their BlogHer sponsorship contest. Launched on July 1st, 2011, InvitationConsultants.com, a leading online invitation, stationery and gift retailer, announced that they were offering a $300 sponsorship to one lucky blogger planning to attend the BlogHer ’11 conference, the largest social media event of its kind for women. The contest was geared toward bloggers who were planning to attend this year’s conference in San Diego, California. The prize will help offset the cost of travel, accommodations and tickets to the event.
Every applicant to the sponsorship contest received their own personalized bag tag to bring with them as they traveled to California. As part of the application, bloggers shared the reason they were attending the conference and why they should be chosen to receive the sponsorship.
“The reasons were so inspiring to read! Many were from moms who were struggling with guilt at the idea of leaving their families to attend the conference,” said Invitation Consultants CEO and founder Allison De Meulder. “Being a working mom, that is certainly something I can identify with.”
The Invitation Consultants blog team (blog.invitationconsultants.com), which includes De Meulder, read all of the applications and visited each blog before reaching their decision. In the end, one winner could not be chosen.
“It was too difficult. There were so many deserving bloggers out there,” said De Meulder. “I wish we could have sponsored them all!” Rather than select one winner, as originally intended, Invitation Consultants instead chose six. Each of the winners will receive a $300 sponsorship to attend the conference. As per the terms of the contest, all six wrote about their goals and aspirations for BlogHer ’11 on their blogs before attending. They will also be publishing a follow-up post about what they learned at the conference to share with their readers.
