Inwido has reduced carbon dioxide emissions per window wing by 22 percent from 2021 to 2022. This means that emissions from our operations per window wing (scope 1 and 2) have more than halved compared to 2019, and thus the climate ambition for 2030 has already been achieved. In addition to this, in 2022, Inwido has also increased the proportion of sales of windows and doors that are aligned with the EU Taxonomy's criteria for significantly contributing to climate change mitigation by 65% (61).

Inwido's climate ambition was presented for the first time at the Capitals Market Day 2020 and states that the climate emissions, from our operations, should be halved by 2030, compared to 2019. The group will then be carbon dioxide neutral by 2050 at the latest. With an emissions reduction of 22 percent in 2022, emissions have already been halved, eight years earlier than what was set as ambition.

"I am impressed by the quick measures implemented in our business units to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This means that I look forward with great confidence to the work we are now doing within the framework of the Science Based Targets initiative, to map and then together with our suppliers also influence the emissions within scope 3, at the same time as the journey towards climate neutrality within our own operations continues with undiminished strength," says Henrik Hjalmarsson, President and CEO of Inwido.

In 2022, Inwido has also increased the proportion of sales of windows and doors that are compatible with EU Taxonomy's criteria for significantly contributing to climate change mitigation to 65 percent from 61 percent in 2021. The goal is to reach 75 percent by 2030. In addition, energy use in the group has decreased by 5 percent during the year.

"Given the great contribution our windows and doors make in reducing energy use and emissions, I am proud and happy about the pace at which we are also making changes internally. At the same time, we have great respect for the task ahead of us. We want to be a part in driving the green transition but realize that there is a lot of work left to do”, says Henrik Hjalmarsson.
