Inwido signs Science Based Targets Initiative to contribute to reduced greenhouse gases
Inwido now joins the well reputed Science Based Targets Initiative with the ambition of reducing the group's emissions of greenhouse gases. By standing up for SBTi, the group's work to reduce emissions, and thus contribute to the Paris Agreement's 1.5 degree target, is clarified.
Following the signing of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), Inwido sets even clearer goals for its continuous long-term work to reduce the group's own, as well as for instance subcontractors' greenhouse gas emissions. The goals will, with the signing, be followed up in a scientific way and will be validated by SBTi.
"As we join the Science Based Targets Initiative, we will be part of a context that in a credible and scientific way evaluates the results of our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, on the path to the 1.5-degree goal. This is very good. I am also pleased that in recent years we have continued to reduce carbon dioxide emissions per unit, in line with increased ambitions", says Henrik Hjalmarsson, President & CEO Inwido.
Science Based Targets is based on a collaboration between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). For more information on Science Based Targets see https://sciencebasedtargets.org/
