ION MEDIA NETWORKS NAMES STEVE STERNBERG SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, SALES RESEARCH
NEW YORK – September 19, 2011 – ION Media Networks announced today that seasoned television research executive Steve Sternberg has been named Senior Vice President, Sales Research. Sternberg will be based in the New York office and report to Stephen Appel, President, Sales, ION Media Networks.
In the newly created position, Sternberg and his team will be responsible for proactively developing and implementing innovative sales research presentations and audience analysis to support the Company’s sales efforts, including creating presentations for agencies and clients. Over the last year, Sternberg has worked with ION as a consultant where he developed ION’s highly-acclaimed research unit, the Consumer Value Index, among other leading research tools.

Sternberg joins ION with over 25 years experience leading the television research operations of major media agencies such as Magna Global, TN Media and Bozell. He has long been one of the most influential and widely quoted researchers in the industry. Sternberg was named a Media Maven by Advertising Age in 1996 and 2007 and was elected a Media All-Star by Media Week in 2003. Sternberg holds a BA in Marketing from Bernard M. Baruch College.
