One of South africa's largest telecom operators signs license agreement with Iquity Systems

ONE OF SOUTH AFRICA'S LARGEST TELECOM OPERATORS SIGNS LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH IQUITY SYSTEMS The South African telecom operator MTN and Iquity Systems have signed a license agreement regarding the use of the IQ Platform in the South African wireless telephone network. MTN will be the eighth telecom operator to use the IQ Platform from Iquity Systems. The IQ Platform is essentially comprised of six modules including Content Logic, Identification, Rating, Settlement, Subscriber Management and Service Management. Iquity Systems' products, such as OptPay, GratisTel, NicetNet and View4U are all based on the dynamic IQ Platform. In addition to South Africa, Iquity Systems has licensees for the IQ Platform in Sweden, Greece, England, France, Indonesia, Italy and Australia. MTN will initially use the GratisTel product based on the IQ Platform. The service will allow MTN's subscribers to make free calls in return for listening to sponsored commercials at regular intervals during the call. MTN Value Added Services - Product Manager, Prejlin Naidoo said: "Sponsored Telephony represents a unique opportunity for MTN to bring telecommunications within the reach of the majority of the South African population."
