Irisity and Axis Communications Partner to Launch Advanced Surveillance Camera with AI-Powered Video Analytics
Gothenburg, Sweden, March 28, 2023 — Irisity AB (publ), the leader in state-of-the-art video analytics, has announced the launch of Irisity Edge for Axis. The offering combines best-in-class video analytics with market-leading surveillance cameras to provide customers with a comprehensive and intelligent video security solution.
The solution runs Irisity’s AI algorithms for perimeter security embedded in the Axis camera without requiring extra hardware. Irisity Edge for Axis combines Irisity's industry-leading video analytics, based on deep learning AI models and machine learning, and Axis Camera Applications Platform (ACAP) video devices into a single solution.

Both small and large installations benefit greatly from the platform. Small sites will now only require the camera on-site, meaning no extra hardware is needed and the cost is kept to a minimum. Large sites will benefit from a greatly simplified network and server infrastructure. Since the video analytics computations are distributed across hundreds of cameras, bandwidth requirements are kept to a minimum and expensive analytics servers may not be needed.
The solution is fully compatible with Irisity's hosted cloud solutions, allowing customers to mix and match camera-embedded analytics with server or cloud-based solutions to upgrade existing cameras. It also features a true IoT architecture, meaning that the AI processing is distributed across thousands of cameras while everything is still configured in one convenient place.
