ISG Appointed To MoJ Strategic Framework

ISG has been appointed to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Strategic Alliance Agreement Framework for Construction, which has a six-year duration and a potential £1 billion expenditure over its life. ISG has been successful in three categories - National (for projects of £10 million and over), North region and South region (both for projects from £150K up to £10 million).

The framework encompasses new build, alterations, refurbishment and maintenance work and can be used across prison estates, court estates, the probation service and tribunals. Under the previous MoJ framework, ISG was appointed to just one regional category – the North – and to date has delivered in excess of 40 projects valued at over £82 million.

Generally acknowledged as one of the most successful public sector frameworks at driving efficiencies through the procurement process, the previous framework has set the benchmark for lean construction solutions. Developed around the principle of delivering ‘better for less’, this next generation framework incorporates the learning and knowledge from the last seven years and applies this in a transparent and collaborative method of working that rewards innovation and continually refines and improves project delivery.

A great deal of attention is already being focused on the MoJ’s Strategic Alliance Agreement Framework for Construction as a vehicle for delivering additional public sector capital works schemes. Recognition of the framework’s ability to streamline procurement processes and deliver best value solutions has led to it being opened up to other Government clients that satisfy the eligibility criteria within the OJEU notice, and early indications suggest there may be interest in the opportunities it presents to other departments.

ISG’s Craig Tatton, managing director - Construction, commented: “Over the course of the previous MoJ framework, ISG established itself as a leading exponent of lean construction and embraced innovative off-site solutions to maximise efficiencies, with this experience and expertise then shared amongst framework partners. This method of working is clearly advantageous to enlightened clients who benefit from this collaborative approach, helping to eliminate waste and inefficiency across the entire construction process. Our appointment to this next generation framework further recognises ISG’s ability to deliver quality construction solutions at the very highest levels, both at a national scale and within a regional context.”
