ISG Appoints New UK Construction Head of Sustainability
ISG has appointed Dr Jacquelyn Fox as head of sustainability for its UK Construction business, creating the role to build upon best practice initiatives within the company and further benefit from the very latest research and innovation across the wider industry.
A former Government adviser on sustainability legislation, Jacquelyn has more than 20 years’ experience of sustainability policy and best practice drawn from within the construction industry, the charities sector and academia. A Chartered Engineer, Fellow of CIBSE and member of IMechE, she is a recognised expert in the field of sustainability within the built environment and has worked extensively in implementing the sustainability agenda both commercially and in an advisory capacity in the UK and the Middle East. Jacquelyn is also an ambassador for Women in Sustainable Construction and Property (WSCP) and a board member of Women in Building Services Engineering (WiBSE).
Previously head of group sustainability at Barratt Developments Plc for four years, Jacquelyn joins ISG from CIBSE, where she launched the ‘Home of the Future’ advisory group and worked closely with Government departments to advise on sustainable development and help to drive carbon zero initiatives. She became a fellow of CIBSE in 2012 and was awarded her PhD in Sustainable Architecture from the University College London (UCL) in 2008. She has also published several academic papers on sustainability in the built environment.
Jacquelyn commented: “My role at ISG will be to co-ordinate best practice from across the construction business, building on the company’s achievements to date and creating a cohesive sustainability strategy that is both deliverable and will set an aspirational benchmark for the business. I have been extremely impressed with the work that has already been done here on answering and driving the sustainability agenda.
“The company is committed to achieving excellence in this important area and has an enviable portfolio of projects, including the Olympic Velodrome and Siemens Crystal, that act as a springboard to inspire and educate our internal team, supply chain and customers. We have the opportunity and resource to help define sustainability best practice for the construction sector and influence future legislation, and I am delighted to have been appointed to this exciting new role in such a forward-focused commercial environment.”
