ISG Completes Second Phase At Hermiston Gait With SWIP
ISG has further cemented its relationship with SWIP (Scottish Widows Investment Partnership) with the successful completion of its second contract with the client at Hermiston Gait.
In a £1.5 million project to provide purpose-built accommodation for two new tenants at Hermiston Gait, the popular Edinburgh retail centre, new outlets were constructed for Scotland’s first Krispy Kreme outlet and a new KFC quick service restaurant.
ISG has constructed a single-storey steel frame restaurant for KFC with ‘drive thru’ and car parking facilities and also created a 3,500 sq. ft. Krispy Kreme outlet with associated parking facilities, as well as carrying out extensive hard and soft landscaping works as part of the retail expansion at Hermiston Gait.
ISG’s Andy Mallice, managing director – Scotland, commented: “SWIP’s investment in upgrading facilities at Hermiston Gait has been rewarded by securing two new high quality tenants. In a major coup for the retail centre, Krispy Kreme has opened its first ever outlet north of the border and the addition of a new KFC outlet will undoubtedly drive further footfall to Hermiston Gait.
‘‘Generating repeat opportunities with high quality clients remains key to the success of the business and this project reinforces our strong delivery credentials and ability to forge hard working and mutually beneficial relationships with blue chip organisations.”
ISG secured this recent project, following its successful delivery of a £2.5 million improvement scheme at Hermiston Gait in 2012, which saw the contractor working across all eight retail units on the park. The project included a comprehensive programme of façade improvement work, including the installation of new sandstone external cladding to the units and the addition of striking new glass canopies at the entrance to each store.
Currently in Scotland, ISG is delivering £multi-million contracts for a range of clients including drinks giant Diageo, KARL STORZ Endoscopy and the University of Dundee. ISG also continues to be a key contractor within the social housing sector, working with a numerous Scottish providers including Southside Housing Association and Home Group.
