ISG Provides Gordon Ramsay's Recipe For Success At Bread Street Kitchen

ISG has completed the interior fit out of Gordon Ramsay’s latest restaurant, Bread Street Kitchen, in a £multi-million scheme that builds on the contractor’s successful relationship with the renowned chef’s commercial ventures.

Located within One New Change, London, Land Securities’ prestigious new shopping centre in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral, Bread Street Kitchen adds to the diverse range of restaurants operated by Gordon Ramsay Holdings. Designed to offer relaxed dining in an open plan environment with an ‘industrial glamour’ aesthetic, the 13,000ft2unit spans two storeys with a large reception and bar area on the ground floor and capacity for 290 covers on the first floor.

Originally designed as a 27-week programme, ISG revised the schedule and was able to deliver the scheme much earlier than originally anticipated. The project involved the transformation of the empty shell to a New York loft style interior with tiled floor and wall surfaces, a ‘raw’ bar, a wood burning oven and an open kitchen. ISG was responsible for completing the mechanical and electrical installation, including air conditioning, small power, lighting and feature lighting, managing the installation of the kitchens and completing the fit out to the design specifications of interiors specialist, Russell Sage Studio.

Despite the tight programme and additional challenges of working in a live shopping centre environment with limited access and storage, ISG handed over the kitchens ahead of schedule to enable the restaurant to prepare for opening. The immoveable deadline for the launch of the new restaurant was successfully met and a private function for 400 people went ahead as planned to mark the official opening of the Bread Street Kitchen.
