ISG has been reappointed to the influential North West Construction Hub (NWCH) Medium Value Framework. As the lead contractor on the previous Medium Value capital works framework, ISG delivered over £124 million of projects for public sector customers across the North West region over its four year duration.

Continuing this strong track record, ISG has been appointed to each of the 12 available lots within the new Medium Value Framework for ‘Construct Only’ and ‘Design and Construct’ projects in the £2 million to £9+ million value range, as the highest scoring contractor in each category. The previous NWCH’s Medium Value Framework was responsible for procuring over £500 million of schemes for its 12 construction partners since 2010, with ISG’s strike rate approaching one-in-three of the total number of projects awarded.

The NWCH encompasses a broad geographical area – including Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria, providing an efficient construction services procurement platform for regional public sector organisations. Promoting collaboration and driving continuous improvement, the NWCH has been instrumental in supporting local supply chain employment and delivering a positive legacy of community apprentice and workplace opportunities. Across ISG’s projects, 125 apprentices have been given 1,379 weeks of on-site experience over the course of the previous framework.

Current NWCH projects include ISG’s £8.5 million scheme to build a new Business Incubator facility for Warrington Borough Council – the first phase of the council’s ambitious £190 million Stadium Quarter master plan. The contractor is also on site at a £6.1 million project to restore and conserve the historic Grade II listed Town Hall in Wigan and at a £4.2 million project to build Everton Free School in Liverpool. ISG was also responsible for delivering the multi-phased redevelopment of the Talbot Road campus at Trafford College at a total value of £9.8 million.

Danny Murray, ISG’s Northern regional managing director, commented: “The NWCH has proved influential as a cost effective, collaborative and efficient vehicle for delivering many of the region’s most important and time critical projects. Our reappointment to the Medium Value Framework is a significant win for the business, providing a pipeline of high-quality opportunities and visibility through to 2019.”
