ISG Secures Framework Project At Worlingham School

ISG has been appointed to a £1.3 million refurbishment project as part of the influential Suffolk Council Framework. The scheme sees the contractor relocate Worlingham Primary School to a new site in Beccles, formerly home to Worlingham Middle School.

ISG will undertake a comprehensive internal refurbishment of the existing school building across a 26-week programme, which comprises a sectional hand over phase to accommodate a pre-school class that will continue to occupy space throughout the duration of the project. The initial phase of the redevelopment sees ISG working towards the delivery of the new pre-school accommodation, which is expected to be handed over in early spring.

The modernisation programme at the largely single-storey building includes the installation of new flooring, ceilings and windows and comprehensive redecoration and fit out to elevate accommodation to modern teaching standards. A major part of the projects sees the systematic strip out and replacement of the existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure with modern, energy efficient services installed to help minimise running costs and the environmental impact of the school.
