ISG has been awarded a £multi-million scheme at Fort Kinnaird Shopping Park.

At the popular Fort Kinnaird Shopping Park in Edinburgh, which houses over 70 big brand stores, ISG has commenced a project to create over 10,000 sq ft of additional space at an existing retail unit. The contractor will install a new mezzanine level at the former Toys ‘R Us outlet, creating retail, storage and office space.

The building’s mechanical and electrical infrastructure will be upgraded as part of the project, with ISG also installing three new staircases to access the mezzanine floor and upgrading cladding elements on the unit’s elevations and roof to improve thermal performance.

This latest win further raise ISG’s profile in the city, with the contractor currently delivering a £6.6 million student accommodation project at Elliott House for developer, McLaren, as well as a £3.1 million contract with University of Edinburgh and a £1.4 million scheme with leading independent school, Edinburgh Academy.

Andy McLinden, ISG’s Scotland regional managing director, commented: “This project in the capital is an important win for the business, building on our recent successes and reinforcing our credentials in Edinburgh. Our retail property contracting expertise continues to be highly-valued, with our first project at the busy Fort Kinnaird Shopping Park.”
