ISG Secures Pathology Upgrade Scheme At James Paget University Hospital

ISG is to upgrade the Pathology laboratories for the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in a £600,000 project at the Norfolk hospital.

The 21-week programme will be carried out while the building remains fully operational with office, laboratory and clinical staff decanting to completed areas of the building as each section is delivered. The scheme sees ISG reconfigure the ground floor accommodation to maximise the available space, avoiding the need to construct a new extension, upgrading the laboratory to the very latest clinical standards and specifications to further enhance service delivery.

The three-phase project will involve a strip out of the ground floor with the installation of partitions to remodel the space along with new ceilings, floors and decoration throughout. A new internal plant room will be created and ISG will strip out and replace existing services, installing modern, efficient mechanical and electrical systems. The project includes a complete fit out of all areas including offices, laboratory and testing areas and patient consultation rooms.

ISG’s Ian Gifford – managing director – East, commented: “This latest scheme builds upon ISG’s relationship with the Trust, following our recent completion of the high profile palliative information and supportive care Louise Hamilton Centre at the hospital. ISG’s expertise in this sector is a major factor in our continuing success securing contracts with key healthcare clients and we look forward to further strengthening our relationship with James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as we deliver these upgraded facilities.”
