Aeroméxico signs strategic deal with Carmen Systems for improved operational performance Carmen Systems AB announces that Aeroméxico have extended their use of Carmen's resource optimization solutions to include Carmen's Integrated Operations Control and Tail Assignment planning solutions. Carmen Tail Assignment is assisting Aeroméxico to synchronise the planning of crew and aircraft resulting in far less crew changes and minimising the risk of causing costly knock-on delays. Carmen's Integrated Operations Control allows Aeroméxico to use advanced optimization to manage disruptions on the day-of-operation. The solution handles the recovery of aircraft, crew and passengers, ensuring that recovery is achieved with cost effectiveness and minimal inconvenience to passengers. José Luis Dominguez, Production Planning Vice-President at Aeroméxico said that Aeroméxico expects to achieve significant reductions in the total operational cost. "With Tail Assignment we will use our fleet more efficiently and also reduce our total crew cost by more than one per cent. This is a substantial saving considering we already had extremely efficient crew rosters. Through using Carmen's new optimization technology for operations control we are convinced that we can further improve our performance on the day-of-operation." Carmen Systems President and CEO Per Norén, said, "Aeroméxico is our first client to integrate their complete planning processes. Integration makes it possible for Aeroméxico to balance trade-offs between revenue and crew, fleet and payload costs. Together with Aeroméxico's management we are taking a big step towards totally integrated planning and operation at airlines."
