Rail Gourmet signs for Carmen’s crew optimization software
Carmen Systems AB announces that the European rail catering and passenger care company, Rail Gourmet, has signed a long-term rental agreement for the use of the crew optimization software Carmen Crew Pairing and Carmen Crew Rostering, in its Spanish operations.
Carmen Systems’ total crew planning solution will significantly increase the efficiency of the operation, reduce the planning times, whilst also providing crew with the possibility of influencing their work schedules. Roland Josi, Rail Gourmet CIO, said that the initial study indicated that Rail Gourmet would receive substantial cost savings and operational flexibility from the use of the Carmen crew planning software. “Rail Gourmet hopes to achieve the ideal combination of reduced crew costs through the use of Carmen Crew Pairing, with improvements to crew quality of life through using Carmen Crew Rostering and the web-based crew request system, Carmen InterBids. Furthermore, the system will make it possible for us to quickly adapt to any changes made in our operating environment, such as alterations to train schedules and legal rules,” said Mr Josi.
