America can vote to determine the “ultimate” proposal story through June 20th at 12PM EDT

New York, NY – Jewelry Information Center (JIC), the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America (JA), today unveiled the Top 10 stories in its 2nd Annual Ultimate Proposal Contest – a nationwide search for the ultimate proposal story. Through June 20, 2011 at 12PM EDT, America can vote to determine the “ultimate proposal story” at www.JIC.org/proposalcontest. One vote per day, per person per email address is permitted.

The winner will receive a Grand Prize package, valued at near $10,000, which includes platinum and diamond rings by MaeVona, courtesy of Platinum Guild International; and a seven-night cruise for two to the Caribbean on Norwegian Cruise Line. The Top 10 Finalists won pearl necklaces by Imperial.

“The Ultimate Proposal Contest reveals that a little creativity, planning – and finding the perfect ring – can make any proposal an ‘ultimate’ proposal,” says Amanda Gizzi, spokesperson for Jewelry Information Center.

More than 700 people from across America entered their proposal stories in the Contest, which launched at www.JIC.org on April 4, 2011. The Top 10 Finalists have proposals that range from sentimental to adventurous but all exhibit the thoughtfulness, creativity and planning required to create an “ultimate” proposal.
