JHP Employability’s very own star has been recognised for his outstanding work as he received a nomination for a national LSIS STAR award for Teaching, Training and Learning Practitioner; a significant achievement in anyone’s career. The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) hold this event annually to recognise and reward the hidden talent within today’s Further Education sector. The Awards, which cover all aspects of FE provision were introduced in 2003, and give an opportunity to engage the people within the education industry, regardless of their level of authority within business, junior, senior or directorate. The STAR Awards exist solely for the benefit of professionals working within the education sector, helping the unemployed and impacting their lives for the better. JHP Employability, a division of JHP Group, specialises in the ‘up-skilling’ and recruiting of unemployed individuals into work. JHP Groups holds a wealth of experience in this field and has helped over 300,000 individuals gain skills and employment in it’s 26 year history, and works closely with employers to provide the right candidate to the right job! Many new categories amplify this year’s STAR awards and shortlisted nominees have rooted from a variety of workplaces and cover a range of skill levels and job roles. They exemplify the breadth and diversity of the sector and are individuals who have worked above and beyond the call of duty, truly exceeding expectations. Neil Maclean, Tutor at JHP Employability Birmingham, is delighted to have received this nomination for an award and comments, “I feel in the case of this nomination that I was able to support and mentor a client that had become distant from learning. Providing him with a focus and ensuring that he was aware of the fact he is capable if he set his mind to it, he could achieve anything”. To mark the end of this highly commended award event, all STAR nominations attend a prestigious dinner evening to reward them for their continued hard work to the public.
