JHP Employability have announced significant involvement with a new Learning and Skills Council (LSC) funded initiative launched this month for young people, the Young Person’s Guarantee. Unemployed people between 18-24 years of age will be guaranteed job interviews and further support as part of the government’s drive to help the young people of today reach their potential, through the help of the UK’s top training providers. Individuals approaching six months of claiming JSA will be offered fully funded support and guidance to find and sustain a job, and to really boost their chances of success in entering the working world. It has been recognised that increasing numbers of young people are finding it difficult to find support to succeed in getting a job, and it is JHP Employability’s aim to provide the support within the various sectors including retail, logistics, health & social care, business administration, warehousing & distribution, hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism, facilities management and security. Qualified professionals will assess and determine individual’s needs and match them with a tailored learning plan to ensure their maximum potential is reached. Assessment of general employability skills and coaching to improve their job search, CV and cover letter writing, interview skills and confidence skills will also be on offer. Individual’s existing skills will be developed according to their desired career interests and opportunities in their local areas. Once individuals have secured work, JHP Training, sister company of JHP Employability, will help individuals to work towards achieving Level 2 or 3 qualifications on-the-job, including Apprenticeships and NVQs. Advantages are that individual’s strengths are maximised through the tailored learning plans, and areas where skills are lacking will be improved, therefore the training and support is completely relevant to their own goals, and also geared towards a specific job role. Training programmes are run all year in order to ensure that individuals don’t miss an opportunity. Training allowance and support towards travel and childcare will be provided, as well as providing easy-to-reach central locations for the training to take place. With excellent links to local employers in many sectors, JHP Employability will progress individuals through training and help them find a job within record timescales, and with JHP Training’s on-the-job training, this further prevents the reoccurrence of unemployment. The likelihood of reaching success and promotion within an individual’s job is greater once they achieve formal qualifications such as Apprenticeships and NVQs.
