‘Real Apprentices’ Sought at Local Event

JHP Training and many local Coventry businesses saw a breakthrough ‘Real Apprentice’ event take place last week at the Ricoh arena, as hundreds of potential apprentices came flocking through its doors! This free event, part of a region-wide tour attracted 16-24 year olds and their parents in the Coventry & Warwickshire area for the first time. The event was a hit with the locals as dedicated training provider JHP Training, attended and picked up a smashing 85 interested candidates for apprenticeship vacancies within various sectors including Business Admin, Customer Service, Childcare, Warehousing and Distribution and Retail. Companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, the Army, Coventry City Council and local colleges joined JHP Training in this bid to promote Apprenticeships to the Coventry & Warwickshire area. A new CBI report stated that despite the recession, nearly half of employers (45%) say they already have difficulty in recruiting staff and want businesses to want tomorrow’s workforce to be at the top of the new government’s policy agenda. As the UK’s economy grows, the demand for people with high-quality skills and qualifications will intensify. JHP Training recognises this need and has already helped over 300,000 people realise their ambitions through up-skilling and gaining work-based qualifications.
