Carl Milles returns to Uppsala "Millesgården in Uppsala" is the name of a special exhibition in the Orangery, Botanical Gardens with works of Carl Milles. This is a unique special exhibition comprising 20 works from the artist's home in Lidingö. The exhibition is being organised as part of JM's 30 years in Uppsala and is will be open to the public 7-8 May. "This exhibition is unique in several ways," says William Wareing, curator at Millesgården, and continues: "This is a brief special exhibition which is being put on in co-operation with JM and is based on Carl Milles' ties to the region, having been born and raised here but also as an artist. His first major public order, the Sten Sture monument on Kornåsen, was commissioned by the City of Uppsala.. The 20 sculptures in the exhibition in bronze and plaster include several works with connections to Uppsala and the region. These include: Vingarna, Tarantella, Systrarna and Sankt Erik. The last-named was a proposal for a monument for Sankt Eriks square which was never carried out. The "Millesgården in Uppsala" exhibition in the Orangery, Botanical Gardens, is open 7-8 May, 11 a.m to 5 p.m. For additional information, please contact: Anette Frumerie, Regional Manager, JM AB, telephone +46 18-66 03 23, mobile +46 70-561 00 44 or Johan Höök, Sales Manager, JM AB, telephone +46 18-66 03 03, mobile +46 70- 609 55 05.
