JM acquires property in Linköping, Sweden
JM has acquired the property Konsuln 3 and Konsuln 5 in central Linköping by Lejonfastigheter. The transaction is worth approximately SEK 77 million including deferred tax. The acquisition's payment will be made in connection with occupancy during the third quarter.
The property is planned in detail for residences and is located by Stångån in central Linköping and previously comprised Linköping's old fire station. JM is planning to develop an entirely new residential quarter consisting of approximately 200 residential units. Sale of the residences is expected to start in the spring of 2016.
“We are pleased that the deal has now been completed. As Linköping expands the need of centrally located premises is increasing. The sale to JM contributes to the town's development and concentration. Lejonfastigheter is proud to contribute to this,” says Ann de Jonge, CEO of Lejonfastigheter.
“It is exciting and invigorating that we have successfully acquired property where we have the opportunity to develop a completely new residential quarter in the middle of central Linköping. The proximity to Stångån and the central location is unique. The acquisition is important based on our long-term investment in Linköping and we hope to be able to contribute to developing the appeal of the town center. We are now working intensively on designing the new residences,” says Per Johansson, Regional Manager, East Region JM.
