Vallentuna Municipality, located just north of Stockholm, has entrusted JM Construction with a turnkey contract to construct a school – Hagaskolan.

The contract includes new construction of the school and playground. Hagaskolan will be built in what is currently a wooded area, which will be partially preserved for the future playground. The gross floor area is approximately 13,900 square meters and the lot area is 45,000 square meters. The school will consist of two buildings – the school building and a gymnasium – on two floors. The premises will house a preschool, with space for 80 children in four divisions, and a school for just over 800 students in grades 1-9.

“Being entrusted to build Hagaskolan is especially gratifying since the project involves all aspects of our business. Engineering, construction and our specialists within facade work will be involved in Hagaskolan,” says President JM Construction Peter Neuberg.

Hagaskolan’s premises and outdoor environment will promote student development and desire to learn, and the school’s design will promote a good work environment for both students and staff. The buildings are being designed to simplify administration as well as to enable efficient energy consumption.

Construction start-up is planned for 2017, and the school will be ready for the first day of school in autumn 2019. The total contract amounts to approximately SEK 300m, evenly distributed across the term of the contract.
