Worthy Replacement for Well Known Göteborg Landmark

The winner of the architect contest involving the well known Göteborg silhouette Silo IV at Eriksberg has now been chosen. White architects won this prestigious contest with their “Silo X IV” proposal.

Last August JM, in cooperation with the City Planning Administration in Göteborg, invited five architects to participate in a competition aimed at finding a worthy replacement for Silo IV in Eriksberg. One requirement was that the new building would replace the old silo as a landmark in the area.

The jury worked throughout the autumn. The winning proposal, “Silo X IV,” was unanimously selected by the jury because it would “…become a worthy replacement for the existing silo.”

The 15-floor building in the proposal will have 5 to 6 apartments on each floor. The proposal includes apartments with open floor plans and 360-degree views.
