New intelligent carbon brush system and new brush holder launched by Carbex at WindEnergy Europe

Report this content

Carbex will be exhibiting the first intelligent plug-and-play carbon brush system at WindEnergy Hamburg, 25 to 28 September. It will also show a new carbon brush holder that reduces brush wear by up to 25%. Both products will be on display at the company’s stand, 155 in hall B6.

The i-BRUSH system enables remote monitoring of brush condition by using sensors built into the brushes. This eliminates the need to climb up to the generator to check brush wear. Information on the condition of the carbon brushes is uploaded to the cloud and can be displayed on any smartphone or PC. The system can be easily retrofitted to any existing installation.

Carbex will also display a new brush holder, Optimus V-Type, that promises to reduce brush wear by up to 25%. This is achieved by applying equal spring pressure on all brushes across each phase.

Combining the Optimus V-Type holder with Carbex’ intelligent i-BRUSH with built-in monitoring sensors, results in an optimised solution with very low maintenance cost.

Both innovations will be on display at the company’s stand 155 in hall B6. Staff will be at hand to answer any questions.
