Jones Dairy Farm Announces Rise, Sizzle and Shine Recipe Contest Winners

Recipe for Spicy Breakfast Tacos Wins Grand Prize

FORT ATKINSON, Wis. – Jones Dairy Farm, makers of high-quality pork products, is pleased to announce the grand prize winner of its first ever Rise, Sizzle and Shine Recipe Contest. Malcom Bedell, from Thomaston, Maine, impressed Jones Dairy Farm judges and Facebook fans with his recipe for Spicy Breakfast Tacos, securing the grand prize of $2,000.

The contest, which received more than 200 entries, ran Sept. – Oct. 2013. At the conclusion of the entry period, Jones Dairy Farm selected five finalist recipes and then encouraged Jones Dairy Farm Facebook fans to vote for their favorite. Besides Bedell’s Spicy Breakfast Tacos recipe, fans had the opportunity to vote on the following recipes:

• Sausage & Sweet Potato Dutch Baby
• Canadian Bacon-Spiked Sweet Potato Pancakes
• Savory Individual Bacon Cheesecakes
• Braunschweiger Pop Tart

Bedell’s recipe, which won with 54 percent of the popular vote by Jones Dairy Farm Facebook fans, features Jones All Natural Pork Sausage Roll as a primary ingredient, in addition to eggs, scallions, tomatoes and a variety of cheeses.

“I am thrilled to have been named the winner of the Jones Dairy Farm Rise, Sizzle and Shine Recipe Contest,” Bedell said. “My breakfast tacos have been a family favorite for a long time, and I am delighted to see that Jones fans loved them, too.”

The second Rise, Sizzle and Shine Recipe contest will be held in June 2014.
