Jessica Friberg, co-founder of Jordkraft Energy, is one of six entrepreneurs nominated for Dagens Industri’s Female Founders 2026 award. Out of approximately 70 applicant companies, six have been selected to compete in the final pitch competition, where one winner will be named.

Female Founders is an initiative by Dagens Industri that, since its launch in 2016, has highlighted female founders behind fast-growing and innovative companies with strong societal and commercial relevance. The program aims to spotlight entrepreneurs shaping the future of business and to create a meeting place for investors, decision-makers, and growth companies. The finalists are given the opportunity to pitch their companies to a jury and audience, with one being named Female Founder of the Year.

The final will take place on 5 February 2026 in Stockholm.

– I am of course honored by the nomination, but above all I am pleased that geothermal energy is being brought into the spotlight. In today’s geopolitical landscape, energy is no longer just a commodity – energy is the new security policy, says Jessica Friberg.

Jordkraft Energy develops green geothermal electricity production – a largely untapped energy source in Sweden – through small, modular power plants designed to blend into the natural environment and, if needed, be physically secured. By enabling local, stable, and emissions-free electricity generation, the company contributes to a more resilient and secure energy system, with the goal of strengthening both the climate and society’s long-term resilience.

– Jordkraft Energy does not just build power plants; we build societal security in physical form, says Jessica Friberg.

Criteria for applying to the Female Founders pitch competition

  1. Operates a company focused on technological innovation and/or digital product development.
  2. Has at least one female founder and a strong understanding of the benefits of diversity.
  3. Has an established business model and operational activities with revenue – or a clear and proven product-market fit.
  4. And last but not least, a strong and passionate team.
