With just four weeks left to go until Ragnarok, the Viking apocalypse forecast to take place on Saturday 22 February 2014, a mysterious hooded character has been sighted around York with a traditional sandwich board proclaiming that the end of the world is nigh!

The hooded character will be letting people know about Ragnarok 2014, the grand finale event of the 30thJORVIK Viking Festival, taking place at the Eye of York next month.  The event uses thrilling battle scenes, stunning pyrotechnics and emotive music scores to tell the story of the Norse apocalypse.  Tickets for the event, along with details of all of the events during the nine-day JORVIK Viking Festival are available via the Festival website (www.jorvik-viking-festival.co.uk) or by calling 01904 615505.  Tickets cost £12.00 for adults, £9.50 for concessions and £36 for a family of four.
