Josab India Pvt Ltd has signed an agreement with Natures Spring Eco Tap Pvt Ltd, having their principle place of business in Hyderabad. While Josab India Pvt Ltd provides the required technology and set up, Natures Spring Eco Tap Pvt Ltd will provide the necessary liaison with Government bodies, marketing and day to day operations. The project is on a Built Own and Operate (BOO) model for seven years and further extendable. The total project turnover for seven years is approximately MSEK 200-335, whereof JOSAB’s share is approximately MSEK 65-100.

This agreement brings much anticipated order from Hyderabad the capital of Telangana State and de jure capital of Andhra Pradesh. This agreement serves the purpose of bringing potable water to the people of Hyderabad. JOSAB will provide potable drinking water after treating the raw water using JOSAB’s AqualiteTM. The treated water is given out to the people through water ATM’s, modeled on the lines of cash-dispensing automated teller machines (ATMs) like that of banks. The Telangana Government has laid a road map towards installation of 150 to 250 water ATM’s throughout the city by June 2017. This provides the people with round the clock access to pure and safe drinking water at a very affordable price.

JOSAB’s AqualiteTM based technology has been accepted and approved by Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Works and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for utilizing in water ATM’s project. The work for setting up of the ATM’s will commence phase wise from December 2016.

Background:

Hyderabad occupying 650 square kilometers (250 sq mi) along the banks of the Musi River, it has a population of about 6.7 million and a metropolitan population of about 7.75 million, making it the fourth most populous city and sixth most populous urban agglomeration in India. At an average altitude of 542 metres (1,778 ft), much of Hyderabad is situated on hilly terrain around artificial lakes, including Hussain Sagar – predating the city's founding – north of the city center.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) oversees the civic infrastructure of the city's 18 "circles", which together encompass 150 municipal wards. Each ward is represented by a corporator, elected by popular vote. The corporators elect the Mayor, who is the titular head of GHMC; executive powers rest with the Municipal Commissioner, appointed by the state government. The HMWSSB regulates water supply, sewerage services and rainwater harvesting.
