Fans of The King are invited to polish their rhinestones and dust off their jumpsuits this weekend at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in Haxby Road, York, for an extravaganza featuring the music of Elvis and his contemporaries!

The show, directed by local impresario Don Pears will see Elvis Presley tribute performer, Neil Pears join The Steve Cassidy Band and guests for an evening that will have the theatre rocking with classics from Blue Suede Shoes to Love Me Tender.

“Elvis Presley was born in the year that the Joseph Rowntree Theatre opened – 1935 – so it seems only fitting that we mark this joint anniversary with a celebration in true ‘Music Night’ style,” comments the theatre’s fundraising director, Graham Mitchell.  “We’re delighted to welcome audience favourite Steve Cassidy and his band, as well as Neil Pears – nephew to our own Don – for what promises to be a superb night of hits.  As Elvis sang, we'll have 'a little less conversation, a little more action!'”

Tickets for the show are £10 or £9 for concessions, available online from the York Theatre Royal Box office, on the door, or by calling 01904 639117.
