Start spreading the news – Sinatra Night at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre
7.30pm, Sunday 8 March 2015
With 2015 marking the centenary of one of the coolest men in music – Ol’ Blue-Eyes –a group of York’s talented musicians will be bringing his songs live to the stage of the Joseph Rowntree Theatre on Sunday 8 March 2015 in a Frank Sinatra-themed Music Night.
The concert is organised by Don Pears, a regular contributor to York’s musical scene, with a selection of soloists including Arnold Durham, George Horne, Graham & Richard Kay, Nik Briggs, Ken Humphreys, Jo and Elaine Pears, Juliet Waters and Nicki Clay. Concert goers can expect a wide range of songs from his extensive repertoire, accompanied by a live band.
“We are delighted to welcome Don and his team back for another fundraising concert, and very excited by the theme. Few performers made such an impact on music, across several decades, as Frank Sinatra, and you regularly hear his iconic songs like ‘My Way’ and ‘New York, New York’ on movie and TV soundtracks – just as cool today as they were when they were released!” comments Graham Michael, head of fundraising for the Joseph Rowntree Theatre. “This will be a fantastic night of live music in an iconic York venue.”
Tickets for the concert at £10 for adults and £9 for concessions, available online at www.jrtheatre.co.uk or by calling 01904 639117 or 01904 623568.
