Dyno-Proven, CFM-Rated Spectre Cold Air Intakes Improve Power & Efficiency

Ontario, Calif. (May, 2010) – Pontiac may not be building new cars, but that doesn't mean GTO and G8 owners should be stuck with stock intakes. The horsepower experts at Spectre Performance have developed high quality bolt-on air intakes for 2005-09 LS2 and LS3 powered Pontiacs. The new ProFab Cold Air Intakes for 2005-06 Pontiac GTO, 2008-09 Pontiac G8 GT and 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP smooth out airflow and direct fresh cool air to the throttle body for improved horsepower and torque.

Pontiac factory intakes are restrictive. Even the mighty G8 GXP has an intake designed more for noise reduction than optimal flow. Using their in-house dyno and flowbench, Spectre engineers developed the highest flowing system possible. The Spectre ProFab intake also isolates the high-flow hpR filter from the rest of the engine compartment with an aluminum heat shield, cutting inlet air temperature for improved air density and engine performance. The combination of high flow and temperature reduction can add up to 12 horsepower on G8s and up to 15 horsepower on the GTO.

The Spectre ProFab Pontiac intakes use a high-quality mandrel-bent polished aluminum intake tube to smooth, straighten, and increase airflow, a high-flow washable, reusable hpR cotton filter backed by an unlimited lifetime warranty and a powdercoated heat shield to block high underhood radiant heat. All necessary brackets, adapters, hardware, and complete step-by-step instructions to make installation easy are included. Additionally, many Spectre Performance Modern Muscle intake kits are C.A.R.B. exempt or are pending C.A.R.B. exempt status.

Celebrating its 26th anniversary, Spectre Performance offers high performance air filters, cold air intakes and automotive accessories engineered and tested in the most extreme conditions on earth for maximum performance, durability and style.
