NEW SOURCE FOR VINTAGE & OBSCURE MUSTANG PARTS
Classic Recreations Opens eBay Store Specializing in New, Original, High Performance and Restoration Parts for Vintage Mustangs
Yukon, Okla. (June, 2010) – In the mid-1960's, a visitor to the Shelby factory at LAX would find original Mustang parts piled up, having been discarded in favor of high-performance Shelby components as standard Mustangs were transformed into new sports cars. Nearly half a century later the same can be said at Classic Recreations - where original Mustangs are stripped down and rebuilt as Shelby G.T.500CR supercars. Since many of the original parts are not used in the build - and enthusiasts know that restoring a vintage Mustang fastback can be tough when it comes to finding the right parts - the Oklahoma based shop has opened an eBay store to connect enthusiasts with obscure and hard-to-find pony parts.
Since every Classic Recreations handbuilt Shelby G.T.500CR starts as a real 1967 Mustang fastback, many valuable original Mustang parts are removed and replaced with upgraded modern components and custom Shelby pieces. Hard-to-find parts like original gauge clusters, fastback sail panels, vent grills and trim pieces are not used in the updated G.T.500CR and they are now available for sale through the Classic Recreations' online store. The store also includes new pieces such as replacement sheet metal, reproduction fuel caps and wiring harnesses.
"As an enthusiast who has built hundreds of classic cars, I know how difficult it can be to find the original pieces needed for a restoration project," says Classic Recreations founder Jason Engel "Since we replace so many original parts with custom Shelby pieces, I wanted to make the vintage parts, as well as unused replacement pieces, available to people working on their own Mustang projects."
