Red Line Synthetic Oil to Sponsor McDowell's NASCAR Nationwide team at Richmond
Benicia, CA – Red Line Synthetic Oil Corp. is proud to announce its primary sponsorship agreement with driver Michael McDowell, 25, and the MacDonald Motorsports Dodge Charger for Friday night’s Virginia 529 College Savings 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Richmond International Raceway.
“It’s great to have Red Line come on as our primary sponsor for Richmond,” said McDowell, who has 54 Nationwide Series starts with a career-best finish of 6th. “We have been running Red Line Oil products in our #81 Dodge Challenger all year, so I can’t wait to drive this new Red Line Oil paint scheme under the lights Friday night.”
Friday’s race features NASCAR’s new Car of Tomorrow for the Nationwide Series, with fan-friendly body styles that more closely resemble today’s road cars. The new race cars also feature the safety developments found in the latest Sprint Cup cars of similar design.
Red Line Oil has worked with McDowell throughout his career, going back to his Formula Star Mazda Championship in 2004, as well as with his sports car activities with Finlay Motorsports.

McDowell’s career features success all over the racing map, including multiple starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, ChampCar, and Grand Am, plus IKF and WKA karting championships, and 2nd place in the ARCA Series in 2007. McDowell is a Glendale, AZ, native who now lives in the Charlotte-area with wife Jami and son Christopher.
