RePlay XD Captures Star Mazda Championship In HD
REPLAY XD® named the Official Camera of the Star Mazda Race Series
Newbury Park, Calif. (March, 2012) – Action sports camera company Replay XD will be giving viewers a first-hand look at what the track experience is like for every driver on the 2012 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear thanks to the a fleet of HD cameras and coverage provided by ®Discovery Channel’s Velocity network as part of a partnership between Replay XD and the popular open-wheel driver development series.
The lenses of Replay XD’s flagship model, the XD1080, will be providing all of the in-car and on-car footage in crystal clear HD with the Star Mazda Championship's teams and drivers taking full advantage of the most versatile mounting options on the market to offer never-before-seen perspectives.
“When the Andretti Autosport Team came to us in need of a way to capture shots to help aid its drivers during testing sessions and race day, we jumped on the chance to take part in the program last season,” said John Spar, President of Replay XD. “The goal now is to offer that same view to not only the teams, but also to the viewers at home that want to enjoy all of intense competition this series has to offer.”
The Star Mazda Championship, a major part of the Mazda Road to Indy, will be traveling throughout both the U.S. and Canada with the ™Izod Indy Car Series, Grand-Am and the American LeMans Series during the 11-weekend, 18-race 2012 season. The televised broadcasts will be a regularly-scheduled, hour-long weekend show on Velocity – “The Mazda Motorsports Hour.” Twenty-four shows will be broadcast on a tape-delay basis from April through November.
