From Zero to Infinity - Kährs circular journey of Enomer flooring

Kährs is proud to announce the launch of Infinity, its latest innovation in PVC free resilient flooring for projects as schools and healthcare. A high performing addition to the Enomer^® family alongside Kährs Zero, with a high portion of recycled material for even lower climate footprint. 

Kährs new product collection, Infinity, is an expansion of the company’s range of Enomer^®-based flooring solutions where Kährs Zero has established itself as a high performing and healthy flooring solution especially in healthcare and education. 

Kährs has been seeking to develop its offering of PVC free Enomer flooring to provide a more diverse product portfolio for property developers to choose from for different needs and levels. 

Another aim for Kährs in its innovation work is to become more circular. In 2023, Kährs was the first producer to take back and re-use installation waste from PVC free resilient flooring - installation waste that is now a vital component in the Infinity collection.

Kährs Infinity has been developed for use in the same type of applications as Kährs Zero and the two ranges share most of the excellent properties with some differences in the material composition. Kährs Infinity delivers high performance in terms of durability, scratch and wear resistance, as well as resistance to chemicals, dirt and bacteria. It also offers a competitive total cost of ownership due to its durability and low need for maintenance. 

Made with safe components, of which 50-90% is recycled material, while also being fully recyclable, Infinity has superior sustainability qualities. The flooring meets high demands on transparency with relevant declarations /certifications available to facilitate project specification.

As all Kährs’ PVC free resilient floors, Infinity is produced in the company’s own factory in Finland. 

Kährs Infinity comes in a variety of colour designs with inspiration from Kährs most popular Zero products.

More about Enomer^®
It all began in the forest by the lakes in Ikaalinen, Finland, more than 20 years ago with a question: “Can we make a plastic, resilient flooring which is kinder to nature and a healthier choice while still being durable, long-lasting and meeting all requirements disregarding the application?” The answer was yes and came in the form of Enomer^® - a unique and innovative flooring material meeting all these criteria.

Enomer^® is a safe plastic material composed of four clean components:

• EVA & other elastomeric polymers: These provide natural softness and flexibility without any plasticizers.
• Ionomer: PE, polyethylene copolymer fused with the rest of the content through high heat, offering higher durability and a reinforced, harder surface. A material often used in golf balls.
• Limestone: A natural mineral that is a sedimentary rock of calcium carbonate (chalk), which exists in nature all around us.
• Colour pigments: Mainly inorganic metal oxide pigments, with some organic pigments in the brighter colors.
