Kährs launches ultra-matt ‘Lux & Lumen’ wood floors at BAU 2017
Kährs, a world-leading Swedish wood floor manufacturer, is launching two new collections of ultra-matt wood floors – Lux and Lumen - at BAU 2017; Munich’s international trade fair for architecture, materials and systems. The stunning new designs feature an innovative non-reflective surface treatment, enhancing the wood’s tone whilst providing a lustrous silky finish and a strong shield against wear and tear.
“Kährs Group’s participation at BAU and other trade fairs is in line with our ambitions to further develop our position on the global project market. Recently, we participated in the Downtown Design fair in Dubai, where we signed a 60 000 m2 project, and in February we will be at the meeting place for Scandinavian design - Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. We are also expanding our network of showrooms for the design and architectural community. Most recently we opened a Design Studio in Clerkenwell, London and in the spring we are opening a show room in Madrid” concludes Christer Persson, President and CEO of Kährs Group.
BAU, which takes place from January 16 to 21, at the Messe München exhibition center, is the biggest and most important event in the sector. Around 2,000 exhibitors from more than 40 countries and approximately 250,000 visitors from all around the world are expected to take part.
Including 13 new designs, Lux and Lumen each create the look and feel of untreated, newly sawn oak and ash. Colour options span from milky white, to a deep smoked brown with ebony accents, with the 1- and 3-strip designs offering endless opportunities to mix-and-match. The new technically advanced lacquer finish gives a unique, non-reflective finish and is the result of a close collaboration between Kährs’ design and surface treatment specialists, and leading lacquer experts.
“We constantly strive to develop our products further to meet the trends in design and architecture,” says Emanuel Lidberg, Head of Design at Kährs Group. “Lux and Lumen have been developed for design-led interiors, with abundant natural light, for example with floor-to-ceiling glazing. Traditional lacquer finishes reflect light which distracts from the floor’s appearance. Our new, ultra-matt finish minimizes reflections so that the wood’s natural grain and tone can be appreciated to the full,” concludes Emanuel Lidberg.
