  • Ronnie Wood: A Major Retrospective of 50 years of Rock and Roll at the Symbolic London pop-up showroom, Thursday 9 August to 9 November, 34 Bruton Street, London, W1J 6QX

Symbolic Collection is proud to announce a major new exhibition featuring Ronnie Wood artworks, and historical Rolling Stones artefacts. The show will include paintings, sketches, hand written lyrics, and guitars by Ronnie Wood, together with Symbolic’s major acquisitions of Ronnie Wood and Rolling Stones items.

The show gives a comprehensive insight into Wood, the bands and the rock legends he has associated with across five decades including; The Rolling Stones, Faces, The Birds and The Jeff Beck Group.

Symbolic Collection was founded by Bernie Chase, who has had a long life fascination with art and music. He developed a deep appreciation of Wood’s art and that together with his love for the Rolling Stones was the inspiration behind the collection. The items are from Chase’s personal collections, with stand out exhibits including:

  1. Original set lists and handwritten working lyrics for The Rolling Stones, Faces, The Birds and The Jeff Beck Group
  2. Guitars painted by Wood which feature rare drawings and lyrics
  3. A range of large canvas paintings, recent works which have never been displayed before, will be unveiled

This wonderful historical collection will now become available to celebrate this momentous occasion in the life of Wood and the Rolling Stones.

As well as a renowned musical career, Wood is a successful artist with a unique spirit and passion that finds inspiration from his musical influences. His work largely focuses on the band members and musicians he admired and knew, family, close friends and self-portraits. Supporters and collectors of his work include Bill Clinton, who recently bought two of his works and Babington House entrepreneur Nick Jones.

Edward Lucie-Smith, internationally acclaimed art historian says of Wood: ‘Who says you have to be good at only one thing? Ronnie is in the top flight as a musician, but he’s also a full trained artist – and it shows’

Ronnie Wood said: “My two passions in life are music and art, I can’t imagine one without the other. Through The Stones, The Birds, Faces and Jeff Beck Group I’ve been creating art, collecting objects, pictures and memories that together provide an encounter with the people who influence me, the people I love and my own life experiences.”
