Boasting almost year-round clear skies and balmy weather in September and October, Cyprus has long been a popular destination for those looking for a late season break.

Now, thanks to a new, FREE, Visit Cyprus App for smart phones developed by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation visitors can access all they need to know before they go. The App can also be used offline as a mini guide to the Island while on holiday.  

Can’t tell Lemesos from Limassol? (They’re actually the same place) Want to know about the famous orange harvest, where to see a play at a cliff-top Roman amphitheatre and how to get the lowdown on local Cypriot festivals?  The new Visit Cyprus App covers everything from an overview of the history and culture of the island to practical guidance on how to get about, opening times and language and religion. The app also provides a reviews section for checking out advice from other travellers, all in a simple and intuitive layout.

Mr. Orestis Rossides, Director of the UK office of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, said:  “We recognise the importance of providing easy to use visitor information on smart phones and mobile devices.  This is our first App and in time we will be looking to develop its functionality and range of information provided, increasing at the same time the speed and ease our visitors can access useful information both in the UK and in Cyprus.”
