VALEGA Signs New Agreements and Strengthens Its International Expansion

Report this content

Katalysen Ventures AB (publ) ("Katalysen") portfolio company VALEGA Chain Analytics ("VALEGA") continues to accelerate its growth through new strategic partnership agreements with international actors. The agreements represent important milestones in the company’s expansion strategy and strengthen VALEGA’s position as a leading specialist in transaction monitoring and regulatory compliance for digital assets.

The rapidly growing regulation of digital assets and blockchain-based transactions is placing increasing demands on banks and other financial institutions to identify and prevent money laundering and other criminal activity. A recently conducted internal analysis shows that more than 2–3 percent of transactions in an analyzed dataset were related to blockchain-based assets. With its specialist expertise in Transaction Intelligence for digital assets, VALEGA helps traditional financial actors, or TradFi, meet increased regulatory requirements and serves as an important bridge between the established financial system and the emerging market for digital assets.

Agreement with Cointegrity

VALEGA has entered into a partnership agreement with Norway-based Cointegrity, a company focused on blockchain technology, digital assets, artificial intelligence, and regulatory compliance. Cointegrity helps banks, financial institutions, companies, and the public sector develop and implement solutions in areas such as AML, risk management, and regulatory reporting.

Through the partnership, VALEGA’s solution for transaction monitoring of blockchain-based assets will become an integrated part of Cointegrity’s offering to the banking sector. Initially, the offering will target the Norwegian market, with the ambition to subsequently expand to the rest of Europe. As a first step, the services are already being offered to Norway’s largest bank.

Agreement with Leading Central European Actor

VALEGA has also signed a partnership agreement with a currently confidential actor that is a leading provider in the DACH region within digital forensics, cybersecurity, Open Source Intelligence, and investigations of fraud and other financial crime.

Through the partnership, the actor will integrate VALEGA’s technology for blockchain analysis and transaction monitoring into its offering. The collaboration broadens VALEGA’s international distribution channels and creates new business opportunities across several European markets. Further information about the collaboration will be communicated at a later stage.

Expansion Towards Asia

As part of its continued international expansion, VALEGA has appointed Tobias Mathiasen as Strategic Advisor, with a particular focus on Japan and strategic partnerships in Asia.

Tobias has extensive experience in international business development, investments, and strategic partnerships between Europe and Asia. Through his work in venture capital and innovation ecosystems, he has built an extensive network in Japan, where he currently helps European and Japanese companies establish business relationships and develop innovation collaborations.

In his new role, Tobias will support VALEGA’s establishment and business development in Japan, as well as help identify strategic partners within the banking, finance, and regulatory ecosystems.

CEO Comment

Sven Färm Martinsson, CEO of VALEGA, comments:

“These strategic partnerships are fully aligned with our go-to-market strategy. By collaborating with established AML providers and infrastructure companies within traditional finance, we gain access to strong distribution channels and a clear multiplier effect. This enables us to scale the business faster and establish VALEGA as a leading player within blockchain intelligence and regulatory compliance. At the same time, Tobias will be an important key person in our continued expansion in Asia.”

The new agreements represent another important step in VALEGA’s strategy to grow through partnerships with established market actors and to meet the rapidly increasing demand for advanced solutions in regulatory compliance and transaction monitoring within digital assets.
