Cozen O’Connor LLP Installs Relativity In-house
Leading Pennsylvania-based law firm selects e-discovery platform for its processing and text analytics capabilities
kCura, developers of the fully featured, e-discovery software Relativity, today announced that Cozen O’Connor has licensed Relativity. Cozen O’Connor is a full-service law firm that provides a wide range of services in litigation, business law, and government relations to clients across the globe.
“Relativity is going to be a key element in the new e-discovery initiatives we are developing at the firm,” said David J. Walton, managing director of Cozen O’Connor’s e-discovery and practice advisory services. “We are confident that Relativity will not only help us efficiently handle e-discovery for our clients but, most importantly, help us control e-discovery costs and get great results for our clients.”
As a fully featured, web-based e-discovery platform, Relativity allows users to create and automate custom workflows, and make use of fully integrated processing capabilities—so case teams can get native files into the system quickly to start review.
“Relativity Processing streamlines bringing our data into an e-discovery platform for review. Processing is intuitive, configuration is simple, and we can quickly get documents into our attorneys’ hands by pushing data from processing to review in one step,” said Rich Pachella, director of Cozen O’Connor’s e-discovery and practice advisory services. “It’s exciting to see how this is helping our attorneys serve our clients more efficiently.”
Cozen O’Connor is also making use of a complete set of text analytics capabilities including computer-assisted review and email threading.
“We’re using Relativity Analytics—especially email threading—to speed up document review, saving our clients’ money by throwing away old conventions and leveraging features we never had access to before,” said Pachella. “We’re finding that we don’t need to use a cookie-cutter linear review, but that we can be flexible by building workflows around Analytics and Assisted Review.”
“We’re excited that Cozen O’Connor has chosen Relativity, and are taking advantage of features like processing and analytics,” said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. “We look forward to working with them to help provide a great experience for their clients.”
