Jet Airways Announces New Acting CEO

Jet Airways (www.jetairways.com) has announced the appointment of Nikos Kardassis as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective 15 October 2009. Mr Kardassis replaces Wolfgang Prock-Schauer who has been at the helm of Jet Airways since June 2003.

Mr Kardassis, who served as CEO of Jet Airways from 1994 to 1999, brings a wealth of experience of both the aviation and financial services industries, along with over two decades of extensive leadership and business management skills. Previous roles have included President of GECAT at General Electric as well as Managing Director and Head of Business Development and Distribution at global bank group, Merrill Lynch. Over the past 18 months he has served as Senior Vice President, The Americas Jet Airways, and as Senior Advisor to the Chairman on both finance and strategy. Mr Prock-Schauer will be joining British Midland PLC (bmi) as Chief Executive Officer and will be based in the UK.
