24 March 2010 JET AIRWAYS REGISTERS FIFTH CONSECUTIVE MONTH OF STRONG GROWTH Jet Airways registered its fifth consecutive month of strong growth with the announcement of its results for February 2010, with a 31% growth in international traffic year on year. The Indian aviation market leader has been sustaining its seat factor for its international operations at over 80% for five consecutive months with the February 2010 figure standing at an impressive 82%, reflecting continued high demand for Jet Airways’ award-winning product. Jet Airways continued to drive growth momentum across the business, even in a traditionally lean month. Domestic passenger traffic grew by 22% compared to the same period last year whilst JetLite, Jet Airways' all-economy subsidiary, registered a 10% growth. The airline is set to sustain stronger growth with its strategic expansion programme, introducing new routes in the international and domestic sectors. New developments include a daily non-stop flight with a new Airbus 330-200 aircraft from Mumbai to Johannesburg from 14 April 2010, the airline’s first service to Africa. SKY HIGH HAUTE CUISINE – NEW MENU UNVEILED Jet Airways is unveiling a new menu on 1 April 2010 as part of its ongoing commitment to superior service delivery with hot hors d’ouvres served on board for the first time. The refresh comes on the back of a menu overhaul last year by Michelin-starred Belgian chef, Yves Mattagne. Yves designed a new range of Western dishes to complement the Indian food served on board (supplied by Kensington’s Bombay Brasserie, part of the luxury Taj group). Onboard Jet Airways is the perfect place to start your culinary tour of India. Jet Airways' founder and billionaire, Naresh Goyal, frequents Yves’ restaurant when visiting his Brussels operations and decided that he wanted the same food served onboard his airline. While some airlines are cutting back on the level of service in an attempt to deal with the recession, Jet Airways is hoping to woo passengers onboard with ultra-high levels of service and the fine dining experience, offering haute cuisine at 35,000 feet. Yves Mattagne hadn’t previously supplied food outside of his restaurant environment and went on a steep learning curve that has enabled him to recreate a fine-dining experience for Jet’s passengers, and adapt his menu for the sky so that the quality of his food was not compromised. JET AIRWAYS KONNECT TO FLY DAILY TO DEHRADUN FROM DELHI Jet Airways is to further enhance its extensive pan-India network with the introduction of a daily, direct service to Dehradun from New Delhi, effective 28 March 2010. The new service to Dehradun will be operated by Jet Airways Konnect, Jet Airways’ all-economy, no-frills service, onboard an ATR 72-500 aircraft. The introduction of the daily service will meet growing demand for connectivity with the capital of Uttarakhand; a popular tourist destination as well as being one of India’s leading educational centres. Flight 9W 2635 will depart New Delhi at 1015 hrs, arriving in Dehradun at 1115 hrs. Flight 9W 2636 will then depart Dehradun at 1145 hrs, arriving back in New Delhi at 1245 hrs. JET AIRWAYS ADDS DAMMAM TO EXPANDING GULF NETWORK Jet Airways is to launch a daily direct service from the Keralan capital city of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), to Dammam in Saudi Arabia, the tenth destination in the airline’s Gulf network. The introduction of the new daily services to Dammam onboard a 737-800 aircraft will further strengthen Jet Airways’ presence in the Gulf, where it has emerged as one of the leading carriers on the Indo-Gulf sector in a relatively short period of time. Effective from 28 March 2010, the flight is the third daily service to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, coming in addition to the daily service from Mumbai to Riyadh and Jeddah. The Dammam service will complement the airline’s existing daily Gulf operations to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah, as well as Jeddah and Riyadh, from several cities in India. Jet Airways flight 9W 566 will depart Thiruvananthapuram at 2030 hrs, arriving in Dammam at 2250 hrs. 9W 565 will then depart Dammam at 2350 hrs, arriving in Thiruvananthapuram at 0715 hrs the following day. - ENDS - About Jet Airways Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 89 aircraft, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 12 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 53 next generation Boeing 737-700/800/900 aircraft and 14 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft.
