JET AIRWAYS RECORDS STELLAR GROWTH AND LEADS INDIAN AVIATION RECOVERY Jet Airways, India’s premier airline, has continued its impressive post-recession turn around with stellar growth figures released for December 2009. The airline reported a 53% surge in domestic, and 28% surge in international passenger traffic for the month of December 2009 compared to the same period last year, building on the growth momentum reported in November. The average seat factor for Jet Airways' international operations for December hit a record 84.9%, reflecting growing passenger demand for the airline's award-winning international service. The Jet Group also maintained its leadership in the Indian aviation industry with a 26.9% market share for the quarter ending December 2009. The success has been attributed to a series of strategic marketing initiatives implemented during 2009. Despite the economic downturn, Jet continued to focus on delivering exceptional customer service which will hold the airline in good stead for times ahead Seamless pan-India connectivity has been matched with enhanced connections between India and the rest of the world via Jet Airways’ hubs in Mumbai and Delhi. Other contributing factors include Jet Airways’ continued focus on product and services, a new business model with Jet Airways Konnect - Jet Airways’ all-economy service on key domestic routes - as well as the improvement in reliability of wholly owned subsidiary, JetLite. Further facilitating these gains for Jet Airways has been the introduction of new flights to destinations including Nepal, Bangladesh and Qatar and strong growth on the Middle East sector as a whole. Looking forward, Jet Airways expect to see an increase in demand for First and Première Class, whilst remaining cautiously optimistic about economic growth and the impact on the air travel sector. JET AIRWAYS LAUNCHES SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORKS Jet Airways is boosting its interaction with customers thanks to a new social media initiative. New Jet Airways communities on Facebook and Twitter will enable the airline to reach a larger cross-section of its customers, keeping them informed on a real-time basis. Besides being a connecting medium, the Jet Airways communities, www.facebook.com/jetairways and www.twitter.com/jetairways, will provide customers with news updates about flight schedules, new customer programmes, route additions, services and special offers. Customers will be able to share experiences and give feedback that will in turn help Jet Airways to improve their service. This latest initiative comes in addition to Jet Airways’ existing customer connect programmes which include mobile alert services and direct emails, further enhancing the overall Jet Airways experience.
