School's starting at Keewords: How language teachers can use Keewords when teaching a second language!

Our long awaited cooperation with teachers and schools is now initiated. A handful of comitted language teachers gathered today, to get an introduction to the possibilities available using Keewords as a tool when learning and teaching a second language. Teachers from 4thgrade and up to 9thgrade discussed how Keewords can besome a useful tool when building a vocabulary, both in the class room and outside – on the internet, in you smart phone or your tablet. 

Some of the questions and viewpoints we heard today:

Is Keewords dependant on any teaching materials?

Keewords is not tied to any teaching materials and is available for free at www.keewords.com

How do I know the students are studying and actually learning the words?

The teacher can form a group of students and follow their study progress. The students can study at their own pace and level up when they are ready; individually adjusted studying.

Can teachers use Keewords thematically?

Keewords have divides the 9.000 most commonly used words into 15 theme categories, according to the CEFR levels A1–C2. The amount of words in each category vary. Example categories are: Food & Drink, Sports & Games, Politics & Society.

Should the students use Keewords during class?

Language learning is 90 per cent buildning vocabulary. Research shows that by learning 1.500 words you will actually be able to read a simple text. Keewords gives the teachers and the students more time to practise what the student have gone through during class, and gives the students usage of their vocabulary at an early stage in studying.
