Keewords is a new, smart online service ⎯ a faster and more fun way to develop your language skills.

Learning a language requires continuity, motivation and perseverance. "It is in many ways similar to starting jogging or going to the gym," says Sten Ernerot, CEO, Keewords.

Today, there are no good tools to help you set and track your goals when learning a language. "We want to change all that", says Sten Ernerot.

One of the things that have made Nike+, Runkeeper and other services so successful is the ability to challenge yourself and others in various competitions that will help you keep going. These features are included with the Keewords service from the start.

Fastest way to learn a language

As well as keeping you motivated, the Keewords service is geared toward making sure you are learning the most important aspects of a language. Modern linguistic research shows that by learning words and vocabulary rather than grammar, you get much faster results.

10 words a day

If you learn the 1500 most common words in a language you understand about 75% of a normal text. Ten words a day and after only six months you’ll be able to understand the gist of most newspaper articles.

90% of learning a language is about developing a vocabulary

The best way to learn a language is to memorize and repeat the words and their meanings over and over again - workout for the brain in other words. "This kind of self-learning is recommended by teachers, translators and students around the world. There is simply no faster or easier way to learn a language”, says Sten Ernerot

Study based on interests or skill level?

All words are divided into six levels, from Beginner to Advanced, and into fifteen categories. This means that you can either learn level by level or according to a specific interest such as Food & beverages or Sports & games.

So whether you are a beginner or already learning, Keewords can help you gain a much better vocabulary in a fun and effective way.

Based on recent scientific research

Together with the European Commission and 10 different universities Keewords has researched the most common words in Swedish, English, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, German, French, Norwegian, Greek and Polish. These words have also been divided according to EU standard CEFR, Common European Framework of Reference. This is the first time something like this has been done on a scale like this and a new step in standardizing what you must know according to CEFR. Keewords has, as the sole company, the commercial rights to create products and services around these words.
