Former Swedish Prime Minister, Göran Persson, joins JKL

Göran Persson, Sweden’s Prime Minister from 1996 to 2006, announced today that he will join JKL as Senior Advisor, starting on August 1. JKL operates in the Nordic countries and Brussels, and is an independent brand within Manning Selvage & Lee with more than 40 offices globally. MS&L is part of the Publicis Groupe.

“Göran Persson has unique experience in international politics and the EU”, says Anders Lindberg, CEO of JKL Sweden. “He is known for his broad, personal knowledge of issues like climate-change, European relations with Russia, and the challenges to the welfare state”, continues Lindberg.

“I am very enthused about participating in public life from a new position and perspective. The kind of advisory services that JKL provides are becoming increasingly important for corporations and organisations, and I look forward to offering my experience and knowledge”, says Göran Persson.

JKL has recently opened an office in Brussels, which will coordinate projects with JKL’s offices in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland as well as MS&L’s offices.

Göran Persson served as Prime Minister of Sweden between 1996 and 2006. During Sweden´s presidency of EU in 2001, Göran Persson was President of the European Council. Before becoming Prime Minister and Party Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Göran Persson served as Minister of Finance and Minister for Schools in the 1990s.
