New video with information for persons who have been granted asylum
The video is spoken in English and you can choose subtitles in Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish (Sorani) and Somali from the video settings.
Kela has published a video intended for persons who have been granted asylum with information on how their cases are processed at Kela after they have been granted a residence permit. According to Olga Tarsalainen, who is responsible for communications in international affairs at Kela, "for us here at Kela it is important to provide information about social security matters that is clear and understandable and to take into account the different backgrounds of our customers".
Brochure for asylum seekers
Kela provides information for asylum seekers through a brochure which has likewise been published in English, Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish (Sorani) and Somali. The brochure is available in electronic form on Kela's website and it can be printed for distribution to customers. The brochure has also been distributed to all reception centres in Finland via the Finnish Immigration Service.
Information for asylum seekers in 12 languages
Kela cooperates with the web service Infopankki.fi. Information about social security for asylum seekers in 12 languages has also been added to the service.
The service can also be easily accessed on your mobile phone or tablet. You can easily switch language and surf on the website. The service has been made more user-friendly through larger fontsize and a more well-structured front page.
