Keliber has today, 3 November 2022, published the report Progress of the Lithium Project in Q3 2022. It is available on the company’s website on page Reports and presentationswhere all of the quarterly Progress Reports are available.

Q3 in brief:

  • No recordable injuries. One near miss took place when a dumper truck became inclined on the road construction site. The near miss has been investigated with the contractor and corrective actions defined.

  • Sibanye-Stillwater increased its ownership in Keliber to 85%. Finnish Minerals Group owns 14%. The number of shareholders has fallen from 110 to 14.

  • The environmental permit for the lithium chemical plant became legally valid, as no appeals were filed. Keliber is ready to start the construction phase of the Kokkola lithium chemical plant.

  • Recruitments were prepared - several job opportunities will become available once the construction phase begins.

  • A new connecting road from the Syväjärvi mine area to the concentrator plant and on to the main road (No. 63) will be mostly completed during November.

  • A four-phase pilot-scale test programme for Rapasaari ore was completed: battery-grade lithium hydroxide was produced by using ore from Keliber’s largest lithium deposit.
